ITTHAD Club
history & establishment
Ithad
club was established in 1914. It was licensed by the foreign ministry under
no. 10 on the 15th of july 1963 in accordance with provisions of the Act
no.152 of 1949 as regards clubs. It was registered in the Directorate of
Youth care under no.13 on 10th of january 1966 in accordance with the Act
no.26 of 1965 as regards the private orgnizations that work in the field of
youth care

In
1914 some of the school students in Ras El-Tine founded a soccer club under
the chairmanship of lieunnat Mofddal Abu Zied who became later the commander
of alexandria fire bridge. They called the newly founded club " El-Abtal El-
Mottahedine"(The United Champs). In the same year, some of the members of
the Employees Club joined the new club, changing its name to Alexandria
Itthad Club. The club had not its own pitch. It was practicing its activity
and organizing its matches on a plot of land in the Estern harbour till it
had its new pich which exists in Chatby District in 1929 from
Muicipality(the current governorate). which was udes by the mixed ittha dfor
its games.

The story of nomenclature:

When
it was decided to transfer Lieutenant Abu Zied,the chairmain of El-abtal
El-Mottahedin Club to a place other than alexandria virtue of its office as
apolice officer,Abdou El-hamami made use of his old cozy friendship with
Hassan Rasmy the chairman of El-Haditha club,and nagotianted him on merging
the two clubs to enghance El Abtal El-Motahedien and to enable it to confort
the Governoment empolyees Club which was supported by customs departement
with high potentials.Hassan Rasmy approved of leavingEl-Haditha Club & the
chairmanship in return for changing the name of El-Abtal El-Motahedine to
El-Itthad Club to be circulated by the tounges of soccer fans in 1916,under
the chairmanship of Hassan Rasmy.This was in iavor of the popularity of
itthad and against Haditha club.Some players from Haditha club transfered to
itthad defecting from thier original club such as Hassan hosny, Yakout
Elbehtemy and the most famous of them houda.On the other handOn favourable
occasion,the officials of itthad club contcted
their counterparts in Alexandria club for forming a team which includes the
elite players of both teams to be in a unified team which can be a real
rival to Employees club.The idea faired well. To unify the names of both
clubs;itthad & alexandria into El-itthad El-sakandry(alexandria itthad club)
in 1918, under the chairmanship of mohamed Chahine
.

Itthad supporters constitute the main source of
finance:
Since its foundation, it participated in the egyptian sporting rise. it was
the first club
in egypt to support the idea of establishing the Egyptian soccer fedration
in 1920.Hence the club Gained its popularity.Advocting the idea of
egyptionalize the soccer fedration was considered to be a patriotic act.it
remained alone in the membership of the egyption soccer fedration on behalf
of alexandria region till the rest of clubs joined it in 1924.Along its long
life it has been depending on its supporters that constitute its main source
of finance.

Mohamed Chahine remained for one year only as a chairman .He settled down in
cairo.The newly elected chairman was Ali abbadi,the secertary generla of
alexandria governor.He was selected in appreciation of his great service o
the club.Thanks to him,the club managet to get the plot of land which
existed oppiste Manshiya fire bridge. it was known as the Metropole pitch.He
enabled the players to have allowing them to change

The first egyption club to play abroad :

the
history witnesses that itthad Club was the first Egyption club whose soccer
team playes abroad.it defeated balkan countries in 1962 in 12 matches out of
13 .In 1936,the club travelled to palastine,lebanon and syria.In 1950 the
club traveled to greece and held drawn in two matches and won the 3rd
match.In 1966,the itthad traveled to lebanon and won in all friendly and
offcial matches .j
Itthad badge:j
The badge of the club consists of two embracing branches of olive with their
beautiful greeen color.The olive branch is the motto of love and cooperation
since the era of Ancient egyptian.Itthad has not changed its badge since
establishment. itthad maked its badge having two colors white and green.the
name"itthad" is constitute with its badge and the color of players' garments .
